About First Stop
First Stop is a nonprofit organization located in Huntsville, Alabama that seeks to be the "first stop" for anyone in the North Alabama area experiencing homelessness. They provide critical supplies to local homeless communities, monitor overall populations and health conditions, and even provide additional services like case management and daily meals for homeless individuals through their Day Center.
Perhaps most inspiring is their Enrichment Program where they teach people affected by homelessness essential job training and other important life skills to help them transition out of homelessness and into a stable, permanent new life.
Why Justin Chose First Stop
Justin believes everyone deserves a chance to enjoy a safe, comfortable life, even in the face of hardship like homelessness. He says,
"I selected First Stop this month because they help and provide a path out of homelessness. During the Holidays all of us are always focused on gifts and spending more and more but during these times the homelessness have huge needs. Weather tends to get worse with more rain and colder days/nights."
Learn how you can help First Stop, too! You can touch the life of someone experiencing homelessness by donating a meal, donating critical supplies, volunteering, or making a financial contribution. However you choose to help, you are making a difference for a local person in need.
